User Accounts

How can I gain access to the Vaishnava Calendar app?

Access to the Vaishnava Calendar app is invite-only. If you would like to request access to the app, please contact your local area co-ordinator.

Once you have received your Vaishnava Calendar account, the app can be downloaded and installed from the App Store or on Google Play.

How can I retrieve my password if I've forgotten it?

On the app login screen there is a "reset password" link. Tap the link, fill out the form with your email address, and you will receive an email containing next steps to reset your password.

If you are unable to remember your email address or encounter another issue, please contact support.

Events and Notifications

How are event dates calculated?

Event dates are calculated astrologically according to Jyotish, i.e. Vedic astrology, and adjusted according to your geographic location.

When your account is created, your current location is pre-configured, and all events displayed are local to that location. If you travel, move cities, or move countries you will need to update your location to continue receiving relevant information.

How are notifications scheduled for upcoming events?

If you have enabled notifications in the app settings (on by default), you will receive notifications for:

  1. Events falling on the current day. The time of the notification is configurable in the app settings (6:30am local time by default).
  2. Upcoming events. The advance period before an event is configurable in the app settings (one day in advance by default).

Locations

Why is my location important?

Event dates are calculated astrologically according to Jyotish, i.e. Vedic astrology, and adjusted according to your geographic location. Your location generally means the city in which you live, or the nearest large city. Once you have selected a location, the app will continue to deliver events based on that location.

For example if I live in Brisbane, Australia and then move to Warsaw, Poland, I will still be viewing events from Brisbane, Australia (and very cold). In this situation you will need to:

  1. Continue to receive Brisbane events (short term holiday) OR
  2. change your location to your city in Poland (permanent move).
How can I change my current location?

Your current location is displayed in the app settings. To change it, tap the "Your Location" setting, search for a new location, tap it, then confirm the change.

If the location you're searching for is not available, please select the nearest large city or contact support to request your location be added to the list.

What if my location is not listed in the app settings?
